Maxxis Ardent Race Maxx Speed 3C EXO TR 26 x 2.20

Maxxis Ardent Race Maxx Speed 3C EXO TR 26 x 2.20

The Ardent Race fills the gap between the Ikon and the Ardent, between fast XC tyre and trail tyre. Its tread pattern is medium high, the centre lugs are narrow but leave enough space for good self-cleaning and are bevelled for lower rolling resistance. The side cleats are angled and offset, biting into the ground on turns. This makes the Ardent Race the right tyre for all-round use and on the trails.

3C MaxxSpeed: At Maxxis, the 3C tread is moulded from 3 different rubber compounds in one piece and is not subsequently assembled from two strips. Therefore, the treads can be shaped exactly according to the requirements of the respective tyre model, thus optimising the riding characteristics.

Maxxis's fastest 3C compound, for XC and some All Mountain/Enduro tyres, was designed with a hard base and a fast compound in the middle of the tread to have the lowest rolling resistance. However, with the grippy compound along the sides of the tyre it also offers superior grip in corners, even in the wet. Its long durability is also a typical feature for Maxxis.

EXO Protection: An extremely cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of select mountain tyres. This densely woven fabric is also lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tyre remains unaffected. Choose EXO Protection for exceptionally rocky, treacherous trails where the chance of sidewall cuts and abrasions is high.

Tubeless Ready: Tubeless tyres provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tyre; and less chance of flatting since there is no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tyres provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tyre without the weight penalty. Their TR tyres use a standard casing and require the use of a liquid sealant in order to make them airtight.
